This can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mydbadmin.co.uk\/\">http:\/\/www.mydbadmin.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"phpmyadmin\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/phpmyadminlogin.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To log in, enter your database username and password, then select your database server and click&nbsp;<strong>Go<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you are logged into your database you will have many options to choose from.<br>In this Support article we will be looking at how to access a database table and how to export\/backup a database.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"editorbackup\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/databaseeditandbackup.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to access and edit a table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to edit a database table you will need to click on the table on the left (table_example).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will display all your database fields and give you options to add new fields, edit existing fields and delete fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/phpmyadminedittable.png\" alt=\"edit tables\" title=\"edit tables\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many guides on the internet to assist with using phpMyAdmin, so I advise looking through these before making changes to your database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to export \/ backup a database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you have access to your database and know how to make changes we recommend exporting a copy of the database as a backup.<br><br>This is in case you need to roll back to a previous state due to an error or data loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To export a copy of the database log in to the database through phpMyAdmin as described above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next select&nbsp;<strong>Export<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will see the options as I have shown below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/exportdboptions.png\" alt=\"export options\" title=\"export options\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Advanced users will want to go through all the options for their database export<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the purposes of a backup, you only need to select the Export type (CSV, PDF, SQL, etc&#8230;), ensure the&nbsp;<strong>Save as file<\/strong>&nbsp;box is ticked, and select&nbsp;<strong>Go.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A download box will pop up allowing you to download the exported database<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All that remains to do now is ensure you keep the copy safe as you never know when you might need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a website that is constantly updated, for example a public blog, we recommend backing up the database and website frequently.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To assist customers in accessing their database we have provided a phpMyAdmin service.
