This can then be used to restore your VPS back to that point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A snapshot is very similar to a backup, but it can be taken at any point in time. Snapshots<\/strong>&#8216; from the left hand side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will see that this page contains information regarding the snapshots and backups that are being taken on your VPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nco-info-block\"><p class=\"nco-info-block-content\"><strong>Info:<\/strong> Snapshots aren&#8217;t available on the XS package, but are included with all packages above this level.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"902\" height=\"234\" src=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture3-5.png\" alt=\"Snapshots Display\" class=\"wp-image-2391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture3-5.png 902w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture3-5-300x78.png 300w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture3-5-768x199.png 768w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture3-5-50x13.png 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Backups are taken every 4 hours over a 24 hour period and then rotated, the oldest backup will be overwritten when the next backup is taken for a maximum of 9 stored backups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"902\" height=\"902\" src=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture4-2.png\" alt=\"List of backups stored\" class=\"wp-image-2392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture4-2.png 902w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture4-2-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture4-2-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture4-2-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture4-2-50x50.png 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Restoring a backup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To restore from a backup, click on the &#8220;<strong>Restore<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then <strong>confirm <\/strong>the restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"902\" height=\"297\" src=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture5-2.png\" alt=\"Restore from backup prompt\" class=\"wp-image-2393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture5-2.png 902w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture5-2-300x99.png 300w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture5-2-768x253.png 768w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture5-2-50x16.png 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The restore will run, but will need time to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a snapshot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Two options are available with snapshots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can either create a snapshot from scratch by clicking the &#8220;<strong>Add snapshot<\/strong>&#8221; button, create a label for the snapshot. button and the server snapshot process will begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once this has completed, the captured snapshot will display in the control panel, as shown in the example below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"902\" height=\"279\" src=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture9.png\" alt=\"Saved snapshot details\" class=\"wp-image-2396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture9.png 902w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture9-300x93.png 300w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture9-768x238.png 768w, https:\/\/www.names.co.uk\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture9-50x15.png 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now restart the server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a snapshot from a backup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can convert a backup to a snapshot without having to stop the server, and means that you don&#8217;t have to create a snapshot from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose the backup that you wish to convert to a snapshot from the list of existing backups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the &#8220;<strong>Convert<\/strong>&#8221;
