In the section&nbsp;<strong>Incoming Server<\/strong>, tick the box&nbsp;<strong>This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)<\/strong>. This should change the port number to 995. Click&nbsp;<strong>OK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/OE_13.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Set the&nbsp;<strong>Outgoing mail server<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>smtp.hosts.co.uk<\/strong>, only if you have purchased&nbsp;<strong>Authenticated SMTP Access<\/strong>, and tick the&nbsp;<strong>My server requires authentication<\/strong>&nbsp;box. Click&nbsp;<strong>Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; If you have not purchased&nbsp;<strong>Authenticated SMTP Access<\/strong>, you will need to use your internet providers details<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/OE_10.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Click on the&nbsp;<strong>Log on using<\/strong>&nbsp;button, and enter the&nbsp;<strong>Account name<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Password<\/strong>&nbsp;supplied by the Namesco Technical Support team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/OE_11.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nco-info-block\"><p class=\"nco-info-block-content\"><strong>Important Note \u2013 Moving from POP3 to IMAP<\/strong><br><br>Switching an email account from <strong>POP3<\/strong> to <strong>IMAP<\/strong> changes how your emails are <strong>stored<\/strong>, <strong>synchronised<\/strong>, and <strong>deleted<\/strong>.<br><br>With <strong>IMAP<\/strong>, emails remain stored on the <strong>mail server<\/strong> and are mirrored across <strong>all devices<\/strong>. Any action taken in one location \u2014 such as <strong>deleting<\/strong>, <strong>moving<\/strong>, or <strong>organising<\/strong> messages \u2014 will automatically apply everywhere. Deleting an email on your phone, for example, will also delete it from your desktop and <strong>webmail<\/strong>.<br><br>Under <strong>POP3<\/strong>, emails are downloaded to a <strong>single device<\/strong> and can be <strong>removed from the server<\/strong>. Deleting a message only affects that device, which can create differences between devices but also prevents global deletion.<br><br>Changing from a <strong>POP3 connection to IMAP will result in existing locally stored emails not being present on the server<\/strong>, and messages can be <strong>permanently deleted or lost if they are not backed up beforehand<\/strong>, depending on how the email client is configured.<br><br>To prevent <strong>permanent data loss<\/strong>, you <strong>must create a full backup of your mailboxes before making this change<\/strong>.
