How do I migrate my existing SiteMaker website to HTML5 (version 6)?

As of 3rd September you will be able to migrate your existing SiteMaker site (note if you purchased your SiteMaker package after 4th June, you are already using the new HTML5 version).

  • Log in to your Online Control Panel and launch SiteMaker
  • Once in SiteMaker, there will be an information panel and you will be able to click the Migrate to Version 6 button in the top left of the toolbar. This is referring to the new SiteMaker HTML5.

  • You will then be taken through the process and be given the option to preview your website as it will look once you have migrated. For most people there will be some tidying up to do and some editing as not all existing features are supported by the new version.
  • The main features that will not be supported in the new version are Blog, Forms and Membership tools.
  • If you are happy with the edits that you would need to make after migrating your site to HTML5 (version 6), then proceed with the migration.

Be sure though, this is a one way process - once you have migrated, you cannot revert back to the previous version.
