There\u2019s no doubt that one of the biggest\nquestions across the UK right now is \u2013 how will my business be affected when\nthe UK leaves the European Union? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domains are the core of our business, so\nwe\u2019ve been keeping a close eye on the progress of Brexit and .eu domain names\nand what it means for our customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s\nwhat we know so far:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since the UK referendum in 2016, the European Commission have been planning how to manage .eu domains registered to individuals or businesses based in the UK. In line with the new exit date, we now know that UK residents will be ineligible to register or renew .eu domains from 19th<\/sup> October 2019. Have a\n.eu? Here\u2019s what to do next\u2026 <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With less than two months to go until we\nleave the EU, we\u2019re encouraging all UK customers with a .eu domain, to act as\nsoon as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step is to find an alternative\ndomain name to replace your existing .eu. Doing this will mean you\u2019re prepared\n\u2013 even if things change or the leave date is moved again. Start your search by\npopping your domain name in our Domain Search<\/a> tool to check which extensions are available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve chosen your alternative domain\nname, you\u2019ll also need to move any other services you use with your .eu domain to\nyour new domain. If you need help making the move, follow these handy guides<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helping\nyou prepare for the UK\u2019s exit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In preparation of what\u2019s to come, we\u2019ve sent\nout a series of communications to our UK customers with a .eu domain name to\nhelp make the transition as smooth as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
