Why We've Changed Our Name
We believe every name is important. Namesco has evolved... we are now names.co.uk!
Since we began in 1996, we've been proud to be Namesco, your Internet Services Provider, and we still are. We're still the same great bunch of people, with a new face or two, working hard to bring you the same great service you've come to know and love. That won't change.
However, we felt it was the right time to make a number of changes to help our customers remember us.
Why names.co.uk?
Our web address has always been names.co.uk and so all we've done is made our primary domain name align with our brand name.
Being in the business of domain names, we regularly help our customers understand key points to remember when choosing a website name, so we thought we'd take our own advice.

Our new logo
Our parent company Dada has also been going through a rebranding exercise recently, and has created a series of new logos for all its companies across Europe. Our new logo represents who we are as a group and what we do; we provide a 'gateway to your digital presence'.
The Dada Group is one of the most successful businesses in the domain name, web hosting, servers and online advertising industries in Europe today. Dada offers its clients an advanced technological platform to manage their online presence, from 'domain to click'.
As a group we manage 1,800,000 domain names and have 500,000 websites hosted on our platforms.

We love what we do and have a lot of fun working together. We wanted you to get to know us a little better, so we made you a video!

The first and maybe the most significant thing you will notice about our new website is its new look and feel. Our designers stripped back our entire website and brought something fresh, new and intuitive to the table.
Our new homepage design is all about you, our customer, helping you find the products and information you need quickly and easily. We've completely revamped the visual imagery throughout our site; helping you to see the benefits our products will give you in an instant. In fact everything on our site is now bigger, bolder and designed with you in mind.

Get clear visibility on our prices through bigger and bolder pricing panels. Clearer pricing options for monthly, 1 year and 2 year packages show the relative per month cost savings, and highlight our new lower prices on 2 year deals.

Building with Zend Framework & HTML5
The design of our new website is more than skin deep. We've gone back to the drawing board and integrated powerful modern technologies into the DNA of the site, giving our customers a much better experience.
Building on a solid core of Zend Framework and the PHPTal/ZTal rendering layer, we're making a HTML5 and CSS3 based site that leverages all the wonderful goodness of modern browsers. And this is just the start as we have many more plans for the future!
HTML5 is a relatively new technology and we were keen to use it in this project because a) we wanted to keep the site future-proof and easily modifiable and compatible with other emerging technologies, b) HTML5 includes lots of exciting new features and ways of doing things which are a big improvement on what we used previously and c) we’re all web enthusiasts and we want to work with exciting new things!
We’ve also been working with HTML5’s best buddy – CSS3. They work hand in hand and are as vital as each other in our new website. We’ll bring you more insights into our experience of these new technologies and more in the coming weeks.
